Theme: Science and Technology

Aims and Description of the exchange project:

The Hong Kong Emerging Technology Education Association actively organizes exchange programs for Hong Kong youth to visit United Arab Emirates (Dubai and Abu Dhabi) and Saudi Arabia (Riyadh and Jeddah)through the Youth Development Committee’s Youth International Exchange Subsidy Program.

By responding the 2022 Policy Address broaden Young people horizon and help to promote local young people’s understanding of and the interest in science and technology. Also, we aware Chief Executive John Lee hails the “new level” of Saudi- HK ties with 6 packs between Hong Kong and Saudi Arabian enterprises signed. It indicates Hong Kong has a close relationship to Middle East nowadays and we have to nurture this message to our youth. The cities we are planning to visit also are spreading the concept of One Belt One Road.  

These programs aim to promote understanding and communication between Hong Kong youth and international youth, as well as to enhance their sense of national identity. Local young people so that more in-depth international exchange opportunities will be provided to enable them to widen their global exposure and broaden their international horizons see how Middle East boost and become westernise. The theme of the exchange program focuses on Science and Technology from ArtTech, Science Technology Research to Environmental, Social and Governance.  

As a group of Hong Kong young people aged 18-35 who are passionate about science and technology, we are eager to learn about the latest developments in these fields in United Arab Emirates (Dubai and Abu Dhabi) and Saudi Arabia. This 12 days-trip will host by the end of 2023 (Tentatively 19 Dec to 30 Dec 2023). We aim to provide valuable insights into the latest research and developments in science and technology in United Arab Emirates (Dubai and Abu Dhabi) and Saudi Arabia . HKNETEA will lead young people to visit technology companies NEOM in Riyadh, Huawei in internet city Dubai etc. Last but not least, HKNETEA will arrange exchange in universities and aligning to visit China Embassy.
